Celebrate Bastille Day Weekend at a French market in Epping High Street
A taste of France comes to Epping on Saturday, July 12, when Epping Town Council hosts a French market to mark Bastille Day weekend.
The market will commemorate the beginning of the French Revolution and the Storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789.
Organised by international market event operator Savoir Fayre Ltd, and held in partnership with Epping Town Council, the market will be in the High Street from 9am to 5.30pm with stalls selling authentic French and continental food.
Stalls will be selling bread, cheeses, pastries, cakes, sweets, condiments and charcuterie, as well as Spanish paella and couscous and Italian confectionery.
The delicatessen stall will have artisanal terrines and patés and there will also be baked French bread, croissants, pain au chocolat, baklava, cakes and gateaux.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy freshly cooked crêpes or waffles or a sizzling hog roast sandwich.
Epping Town Mayor Barbara Scruton said: “This promises to be a special occasion. It's an opportunity for local people and visitors to the town to sample some authentic continental foods and produce right here in Epping.”
