Allotments
The Council maintains two allotment sites in Lower Bury Lane and Meadow Road. At both there are a selection of single and double plots to suit all gardening abilities. Guidance on Allotment Gardening available.
Each year an Allotment Award is given for the best kept plot at each site.
Judging is carried out in July and the certificates and awards are presented at the Annual Town Meeting held in the following year.
The Epping Horticultural Society runs a trading hut at the Meadow Road site on Sunday mornings selling many items including composts and fertilisers.
From April 2021 the annual rent of an allotment will be £32 for a single plot and £64 for a double plot. For Seniors (65+) the price is £29 for a single plot and £58 for a double plot per annum.
From April 2022, the charges will be £33 for a single plot, £66 for a double plot, £30 for a senior (single) plot and £60 for a senior (double).
All plots are currently allocated at both of our sites located in Meadow Road and Lower Bury Lane. However if you would like to be placed on a short waiting list for when one does become available, please contact the Town Council.
